Description
Google Numbered Search Results is a Greasemonkey script that numbers the search results pages on the Google search engine.
There are other scripts out there which do the same thing, but none of them work with the new AJAX powered search results being introduced by Google. This script does – well actually it doesn’t, it just forces the old search to be used, but the user won’t notice any problem, it will just work for them.

The Google Numbered Search Results script uses jQuery created by John Resig (embedded in the script). Thanks to John and the jQuery team.
thanks for your script but i would like to know what does it do it only numbers or we can click the number to access the 5 th link on the page or so with using the mouse to click the fifth result
Hi Sunderqaz,
It only adds a number before each item in the list Google returns. You still have to click the link for the item (which will be right next to the number).
This script is not working for me, can any one explain in detail
Hi Catherine,
I haven’t updated it iun a long time and I think Google has changed their results page. I’ll have a look at this over the next week or so.
Cheers,
Stephen
Userscripts.org is dead 🙁 Can you publish your script in your homepage or on another site?
Hi Murz,
Sorry, but the script doesn’t work any more anyway – Google has changed too much for it to work. I’m not even sure if you can get any more than 10 results per page anyway.
Cheers,
Stephen
